I wasn’t at SxSW this year, but the ripples of the supposed keynote “train wreck” have been inescapable. Even here, in the despaerate Internet fringe. Luckily, the Internet being what it is, I’ve been able to watch the Zuck video and have this to say: Mark Zuckerberg is a terrible interviewee. And Sarah Lacy’s not the best interviewer.

Perhaps Zuckerberg has some in-person charisma that doesn’t come across on camera. Perhaps Lacy thought he’d deliver on stage like he had in personal conversations. All I know is that no amount of money is worth listening to this guy say “empathy” over and over and over again.

The takeaway line? “What we’re trying to do is help communicate with people they already would’ve? Just more effectively.” Way to talk about breaking ground, my friend.
